On the radio this morning there is a discussion about all the things people should say instead of saying Merry Christmas so as not to offend them.   What about all of the people who want to say Merry Christmas because it is important for them? Why arent they allowed to say it but expected to be happy on behalf of everyone else?  Maybe i am offended ( Read more... )

I think it matters less than people make it out to and is a way to distract Christians from things that really ought to offend us. God isn't that petty and we shouldn't be either.

Saying Merry Christmas is basically wishing someone happiness, so even if they don't celebrate, it shouldn't really be a huge deal. Like there are way better things to get offended about than someone basically telling you to have a good day regardless of whether that day means something to you personally.
