This week has been a little bit of a drag. I had been having a little bit of tooth pain over the past month or two, off and on.  So I went to the dentist a week or two ago. He said he thought the tooth needed a root canal but not urgently. I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday for that.  While he was drilling in, he discovered that the problem ( Read more... )

Man, this has been going to the dreaded dentist week for a lot of people... and yours sounds to be the worst of it. I hope they can do something to save it.. :(

Wow that sounds miserable all around, I hope they are able to save the tooth. If not will they put in an implant? Or is it so far back you can't see it/don't need it?

I could get an implant, but it was my very furthest back tooth (is that any kind of correct grammar at all? "furthest back"? Lol) so I won't get one, at least at this point. I had to have the exact same tooth on the opposite side of my mouth pulled a few years ago and I don't even notice it is gone. When I was a kid just looking to get braces they had talked about pulling out 4 of my teeth to get some extra space in my mouth. They didn't do it, but I've always wondered if they had gone ahead with it, if I would still have as many problems as I do now, or if the extra space would have helped. Who knows?
