Kirsten and I have just realized that the poor Pevensie children were forced to endure their awkward teenaged years TWICE. We're pretty sure that must have sucked.

And as a side note, if one of them had gotten married in Narnia, would they have been a virgin again when they got back to England and turned into a child?

I didn't think they grew up in Narnia while they were reigning.

They totally did, I recall beards.

I like the virgin question. I've often thought about the boy/girl relationship issues entailed in going through all of that twice...

Yup, they definitely did grow up. After the coronation in the last chapter it gives a little blurb about them growing up and what they did and such before they came back through the wardrobe.

yeah, and they def. grew up. In the Horse and his Boy- Susan gets them trapped b/c Prince Rabadash wants to marry her. I always wondered if that was why they were so depressed when they stepped back out of the wardrobe.

I think they were re-virginized, b/c later, Susan doesn't even remember that they actually went to Narnia, so she certainly wouldn't remember any skills she learned. But, in the stories none of them got married, so they should be virgins...

I have often thought about this! Haha… :)

In fact, this issue was one reason why I was always okay with the fact that none of them got married in Narnia (when they were totally old enough and eligible enough, and I thought it was a little unfair that they never got to be married). For two reasons:

1. If you were used to being married (with all the accompanying growing up, having a spouse, and sexy time) coming back as a *kid* and having to live life all over again would be seriously annoying and awful.
2. If they were married in Narnia when they got sent back to England, they would have effectively lost their husband or wife (no less then if he or she had been killed). sad!

And in any case, being a kid in England with an adult married person's mindset and experience would be strange (to say the least).

props to Aradayn: the effect that Narnia has on humans certainly plays a large part in all this. As you say, when they've been in Narnia for a long time they've forgotten that England exists... and later in life in England, Susan has ( ... )

also, I'm mad excited about the "Prince Caspian" movie that is being shot right now. Did you hear about that? they're planning on doing all of the books, and releasing one every year in may, starting May 2008.

squee! :)
