[The asylum has returned to normal, and so have the inhabitants and intruders. Amidst all the confusion, the soldiers have gained some captives. When the feed comes to life, all that can be seen is the face of one of the soldiers, a grizzled looking veteran. All right, listen up ( Read more... )

[Well, this is a surprising development. He switches easily to German.]

As a German citizen, you should be well aware of the consequences of collaborating with those who would threaten the security of the Empire. You would do well to consider that.

[That makes the man raise an eyebrow in surprise before snorting.] So, then, you are one of the ones brought here by their technology...

Very well! I think I know the war you speak of. In this world, we won that war, and the Greater German Empire spans most of Europe, as well as several space stations and colonies.

[That seems to be all he has to say about the matter of history.]

Conscripts. You can give them all the same training, but if they don't care enough to learn to protect their lives, then there's nothing I can do. However, I can assure you that I have more forces in reserve than just those few squads sent in.

Turn in the aforementioned terrorists, and we'll let you go free. You can go to Earth, or we can have our engineers send you home.

And Andrea is back to being the stupid Medic. She groans. Bloody monkey, or murderer? What a choice. Her eyes widen at the sight of Luka and Canada with them.
She yells the only thing that comes to mind.

"THEY'RE NOT CONSPIRATORS. LET THEM GO!"

"We have reason to suspect that all of you are conspirators, and so they are being held as collateral. As the child is exhibiting suspicious behaviours typical of those found in terrorist enclaves, and the woman was attempting to prevent our capture of the child, we must consider them particularly as conspirators." The man adjusts his cover, all business as he stares into the communication unit.

"Well, I'm not conspiring with anyone." Andrea is, of course, mutinous. "And neither are they. The others show up and say you're some bad guys, and then you say they are. Well, you know what? I DON'T CARE WHO IS AND WHO ISN'T. I WANT OUT. I WANNA GO HOME. And so do they. So let them go, or I'll come and get them. I have a gun, and I'm NOT scared to use it." She totally is, but hopefully Medic's face won't show that.

"I find it interesting that in one breath you say you aren't conspiring with the terrorists, then in the next threaten me. I'm only going to say this once, so pay attention." The soldier leans in, voice lowering threateningly. "You keep saying those things, and you will be killed. Understood?"

And they took her brother... thank you Romano, now she's really worried. Again. Anyway, let's keep control.

"I've been asleep for ages, here, so I have no idea about what's going on, who the terrorists are or what are you talking about... but they're not conspirator, they're just been kidnapped like us."
Or... that's what she knows.

"These four are the terrorists. Their names are Egil, Sergey, Joe, and Maryse." Images of the four intruders from before appear on the screen, in the same order he gave their names. "Provide us with the exact location of all four of them -or their corpses- and we'll let you live. We can even have our technicians send you back to where you came from, or we can provide papers for you to live here.

"Of course, opposition or failure to surrender the terrorists will force us to assume that you are all conspirators."

''Let them go this instant, or I'll..''

[Realizing that threatening the man will surely just make matters worse, he softens his tone somewhat. Hostages.. fuck, this is bad. It certainly doesn't help matters that he's back in Prussia's body; sure, the guy is strong and all, but he can't use his main weapons like this]

''Those two aren't terrorists. Will they be returned unharmed if we assist you in getting hold of the targets you're really after?''

[He tries to get a good look at the man's surroundings, hoping to figure out the soldiers' current location]

"Assuming no one does anything stupid or hasty in the meanwhile, yes." The sergeant shrugs. "Consider them collateral. You want them back; try not to do anything that would get them killed, and hope they do the same."

His surroundings appear stark and militaristic, with cargo containers in the background. He's still aboard the ship, in the cargo bay, and not anywhere in the asylum.

Fat chance of that not happening.. Besides, most of the inmates had already agreed to help the new guys earlier, and proof of that could easily be found via the communicator so they would surely be branded as traitors soon enough anyway. Locating the soldiers and figuring out some way to get Luka and Romano out of harms' way had thus been his initial idea, but he couldn't really do anything if they were outside the bloody building so that was clearly not an option after all. What to do..

''Are you really capable of sending us back home?''

The 'terrorists' had already admitted that they were unable to do so after all.

"Our engineers have already found the device that has brought you here, and disabled it until we have your full cooperation." Of course, the fact it can send them home isn't the entire reason the device has been disabled, although this man is hardly stupid enough to inform them of that.
