WaT has been officially canceled.

This is what I wrote on the Absolutely Enrique forum (link on my left side)

While I'm even partially relieved that I won't have to face another season of Jack/Sam/brian and happy-lovesick-Danny and mistress-Elena,

I'll miss my Danny sooooooooooo much.

Danny is ( Read more... )

It kinda makes me sad that I'm not really sad (if that makes sense). The show stopped being the show I knew & loved a while ago so I can't really be upset that it's being cancelled now.

I will miss real Danny & Martin...but they've not been there for a while now anyway. Especially Danny.

Ah well...farewell WaT!

It's just what I feel: I'm not sad, and I'm supposed to be. Lately, I pursued the fandom only on the Enrique forum, cuz I have friends there and it's a great environment, but I well know that our true fandom, D/M, died in 2006, when most slashers moved on. Then, yes, I suffered. I miss Danny/Martin and I truly hope that they go on living through fanfiction.

I'm sad about it in a nostalgic way, not in a traumatic-gonna-kill-me way....which is sad too. This fandom meant so much to me for such a long time (it was my first real one!) and then the fandom sorta died out and now the show's gone...

Luckily for me I've moved on or else I would be really sad. I have new loves, new obsessions and while WaT will always be a part of what I love and definitely what I write about, it won't be the main thing. And that's good I feel this way, cause with my track record of depression, this *could* have really messed me up.

{{hugs you}}

Speaking of new obsessions....have you watched Shelter yet? You should...it's beautiful.

Your link to Shelter sent all my explorers to crash and I lost my half written reply to your comment. *groans*

Trying to recall what I had written...

I'm not traumatised now. I had a trauma in 2006/07 when most slashers moved on, I had atrauma when S5 started and they replaced my Danny with some idiot whose only occupation was to drool after Elena, uselessly added a year before. Now I'm only sad, cuz Danny has been my only deep TV crush of my adult age. Now I know that it's possible to slash a pairing or to fall for a character, like when I was a teenager (not for the slash, I only slashed men in a friendly way).

I obviously couldn't check Shelter on the site you posted (problems with Quicktime, apparently), but I could see that's a movie about two gays. Of course you never know, but I prefer the dream to reality. i prefer subtext to plain canon, so i prefer straight men in some place that I make to be gay.

Hey, you oculd make an effort to follow me on the nuStar trek path... do you like nuKirk or nuSpock more?

*hugs back*

You know, I'm almost breathing a sigh of relief. When the final few minutes of the finale aired, with all the pictures of the victims, I thought it was pretty much over. But, better to go out now than drag it out another season. Plus, we didn't actually have to see the wedding. I think I'd actually be MORE willing to revisit the WaT fic I was trying to write without the distraction of further canon. I hope Eric finds his way into the director's chair more often, even if he's in front of the camera a lot less.

Maybe now the US will put out the remaining seasons on DVD. Then I can sit happily with seasons 1-4, pretending that's all there was.

Here's hoping!

I also hope that the boys (and the rest of the cast) find new projects that challenge them and allow them to really show their exceptional talent. But I'm sad because I'll miss them, and I know they'll miss each other.

I second what you said, Kmousie. A wish to see Enrique and Eric in new, glorious works; a sense of void cuz Wat meant so much to me; the awareness that is not a good moment for them, either. *sniffs*

I didn't watch the finale, yet, but this feling of relief belongs to me, too. It's just a strange day for me. I'm not used to change fandoms as often as I change my clothes, so Danny and WaT meant really much to me. I also believe that the fanfic era is not over at all, and that only good fics can be written from this moment on.

Here they released S1, 2 and 3 on DVD, but apparently gave up on 4th. It'd be the last season I'd purchase in any way.

I haven't watched the show in a while, I stopped when Danny/Elena became cannon. I've heard that it's become a train wreck, makes me glad I stopped watching. Who was supposed to get married?

Danny & Elena were going to the justice of the peace since they couldn't figure out how to do a big wedding...

Yes, a lot of my fellow D/M slashers left when Danny and Elena started that ridiculous storyline. That was my real trauma, not this. But I did have to make an entry about it, cuz WaT and Danny are reason number one why I opened an account on LJ, in the first place.

And, yes, Danny and Elena will live happily ever after. *gags*

I've dled the series but I've not seen the last 2 seasons yet so maybe that's why I can't be sad, plus they had many seasons while other series didn't even finish one or got more like they deserved. I guess I'm not surprised.. I think this can be good for the actors. I'd like to see them in new roles :)

Well, it's never been your main fandom, as far as I got it, while for me it was THE fandom. I can't wait to see Enrique and Eric in new shining roles!

oh yes, you are right, my main fandom is QAF, so agree, I loved it but it never was my main interest or what made me start my LJ.. so I totally understand what you mean. When QAF was over I was very sad but I also realised it was the right time. It ended at the top of its popularity for the fans and in great shape so I was glad about it; I guess that with WaT that's not been the case and that may be sad for the people involved and the fans.. I need to see the last season to have an opinion so this is just a guess.

"I can't wait to see Enrique and Eric in new shining roles!"

Exactly ;)
