Watching TV with Dave is hilarious. As we flip through the channel menu, he says the names of some things aloud, changing them around practically unconsciously. "Gilmore Gorillas...Gyros [that's Heroes to you]...Mouse Punters [House Hunters]...Shrubs [Scrubs]...E.T. The Extra Testicle..." and you get the idea. Did you put the pepper in like the recipe says? That seems weird, but it also seems like it could be good. Can you taste it?

Yes! It doesn't make you say, "Damn, that's weird, there's pepper in my cookie!" But it amps up the zing that I usually associate with fresh ginger. And it definitely is the reason for the tingly aftertaste, which is unusual but an interesting balance to the sweetness.
