[Aya has been at Somarium long enough to understand, both from others' reactions and from her own experiences, that as tempting as it is to try to call the owner of the nightmare and offer oneself as a comforting friend, it only makes things less comfortable for the one who had it. There's guilt for having upset others with private angst, a desire to reassure them, to be positive. An unwillingness to confide things so personal.
So Aya waits until Sena is out and sneaks a piece of paper onto his pillow. It's a drawing-- simple and average in skill for an adolescent girl, with smiling faces and yellows, oranges and light browns for color. The six figures are clearly meant to represent their group, with Sena in the middle and Ran closest to him. Aya has placed herself on Sena's other side. At the bottom of the page in small writing is a note.
Thank you for coming to be with us. I'm glad to have you as part of our family here.
PS: I'm dying for some brownies. Call me when you're available to help me eat them-- I'll only have them warm!

[the drawing makes Sena smile, if only a little. It gets stuck on the refrigerator with some abandoned magnets, from whomever last occupied this place--hopelessly nostalgic, maybe, and a little bit silly if he seriously thought about it, but it was the only thing that seemed right.
He waits until the next day to call Aya-chan, after taking a shower to wake himself up. (Not a cold one, the air is cold enough already.)]
