I was just thinking about this, and I'm curious what other people think.

Attending a furry convention is one of the most effective things I've ever done to support the U.S. economy.  Of course I'm assuming that you are actually going to buy things there, and not just ghost the con and sleep in your car, but to each their own!

I'm sure a furry con would have more impact on an economy than a TV because with a furry con you're supporting the service industry. Most of the price of a TV is due to materials.

I think we gave Steel City Diner in Pittsburgh more business in a weekend than they typically had in a month.

Actually, I remember reading that the Fernando's next store got 3 months worth of business that weekend... so I'd assume Steel City was about the same.

Considering they sayed open just for the con before shutting down forever says a lot.

So when is Obama going to start giving out free con registrations to promote more furs attending?

And since there aren't any really large cons in Canada, us Canadian furs are helping to support your economy as well. You should buy more art and fursuits from Canadian artists to compensate for this. ;)

What, I've gotten two fursuits (one partial and one full) imported in from Canadaland... when will it ever be enough?!?!
