I don't want to change my number... it is such a pain to get everything updated in the Navy's systems.

I've sent cease and desist letters before... that worked for awhile. The problem is that when these agencies buy each other's crap its like they start over.

They leave voice mails while I'm at work (my phone doesn't get a signal most places there, so I end up with mystery voice mails).

If they call and I see it come in, its easy to ignore.

Don't have a landline XD
Verizon won't let you block specific numbers... or at least thats what I was told last time I tried calling them to get a number blocked.

Don't answer the call, let'em leave a message.

Well, since my phone doesn't have service when I'm at work, and they like to call during that time, that happens by default.

I've always taken care of such things by calling the number back, talking with someone there and explaining to them that this person is NOT at this number (if anything tell them its a new cellphone number you attained) and that's pretty much it. Its worked every time for me.

Even though its a recorded message the call back number is usually always trunked back into their call center full of operators.

If you ignore the calls they are just gonna keep calling :P

Have called them back in the past, and that works for a bit... I was just wondering if there was a way to stop it at the source. The company that is owed the money keeps giving my number every time it tries to contract this crap out.

Oh, they are using different companies. --Well, the company you talk to SHOULD report back to the main company their findings. -What you should do is call back, ask for a floor manager, try to squeeze every bit of info out of him, and then convey to him strongly that you want the calls to stop, and you want them to contact whoever it is trying to collect and tell them to change the number (if they won't give you the company name - if they do, call them direct)

Also though in there someplace that you want to be added to their NO NOT CALL LIST. (then they have to register it within their system)

Hope that helps, if at last a little bit :/

They must just assume you're guilty for some reason...
Poor foxes, guilty even when you're innocent. ;)
