Whistling Dixie

Noodlhead would like everyone to know he's got his whistles at about 80% now.  He's still a tad shaky on his away whistle, but he's got his come bye pretty much down.  Then again, since I couldn't make up my mind on his away I've left that one alone until now, but I've been using his come bye off and on, so it  makes sense he'd have that one ( Read more... )

Hey congrats to noodlehead on the whistles training.

I couldn't comment on here the other day for some unknown reason. umm, seems okay now though. :-)

I have just read your latest post about being offered dogs. I know that sometimes tragic things happen in life and dogs need rehoming then... but for a lot of them what makes me mad is how someone can just get rid of them. I say get rid cuz really that is what they are doing. Then trying to get people who care about their own dogs to feel they have to take them, passing the buck so to speak to the real animal lovers out there.
Going off on one myself there, sorry, i just don't get how some folk don't get attached to their dogs and can just give them away to anyone who will take them.

Going back to your prior post... loved the photo, those ears are adorable!

Tragic stuff doesn't bother me - like you it's the senseless "getting rid of" that just irks me so much. I don't get it either, Samantha. The time has come, though, where I just cannot help folks like I wish I could. I'm trying to keep my head above water, you know?

And thank you!

How long did it take you to train noodlehead for the whistle?

I think it took us two or three days (over the course of a week or so, if I recall correctly) on his lie down, and I've been working on his come bye flank whistle off and on here and there. I've really only gotten serious about his flank whistles in the past two weeks I'd guess.
