He couldn't stop the grin and he had already been in a good mood, but it just got better. There was a definite bounce to his step as he dropped his jacket on the railing of the porch before he moved up behind Sam. Luckily, he was smart enough to remember the whole thing where sneaking up on ex-military like this was a bad, bad idea.
"Hey, gorgeous," he said, loud enough to carry over the noise of the mower (hopefully). He decided that was allowed to call her that after more than a month away.

A grin broke across her face. Who cared how she looked? He was back, and safe.
"Welcome back." She strode across the yard to kiss him hello.

A long kiss at that. One that said that he hadn't seen her for a month and he'd missed that whole kissing thing.
