Deathly Hallows

I just finished Deathly Hallows early this morning. My thoughts on it are probably more ramblings than anything else because I'm still in awe over the book, so I don't think this counts as a review.  Beware of MAJOR spoilers behind the cut.

I just keep walking around my house saying "wow" every few seconds.  I'm very glad no one's home or they ( Read more... )

Ugh... I didn't even think about Harry getting back together with Cho. That would have ruined everything. But you see Ginny has the same Weasley jealousy as Ron, when she quickly gets Luna to take Harry to Ravenclaw Tower instead of Cho.

I barely glanced at the front and back covers because I try to avoid spoilers in all possible ways. I actually stopped going on the Internet except to check emails in the days leading up to the release.

I think it's appropriate for Snape to still hate James. After all, James was the one who married the women he had been in love with since childhood.

I have to say that I felt this was the most "shippy" of all the books, which I loved! It's painfully obvious from book 4 and forward that Ron and Hermione have feelings for one another but are too damn stubborn or proud to act on them. Though I would have very much liked to see some snogging throughout of Ron/Hermione, I think J.K. did it right. It took them years to admit their feelings, so I don't think they're suddenly going to rush into a serious relationship - but the hints that J.K. gives throughout the book and the way Ron acts toward her are key to showing us they are finally a couple! I know it's been awhile since I read the other books but until DH Ron never really touches Hermione or anything. In this one he always has his arm around her or something ( ... )
