back to life

Last weekend I went to karaoke for the first time. Ayako and Miki took Sandra, Ryan, and me... and it was amazing. You pay about $8 for two hours of singing and endless beverages. At some places it's a little more expensive (especially if the free beverages include alcohol), and of course the cost goes up at night. But seriously, it is worth it. ( Read more... )

oh man, for Greece we were only required to know about 10 words or so, basic ones like "please" and "thank you" and it pissed me off so much that when we got out of taxi's a lot of kids would just say "thanks."

"On the way, I talked a lot with the girl named Saori. She could speak absolutely no Japanese, but we had almost no trouble communicating."

Do you mean English? I'm a little confused. In any case, I'm super jealous of all of the Japanese food you've been eating. I've been craving it lately. And I'm totally impressed with your Japanese skillz...speaking in a foreign language to a native...would be frightening to me. It sounds like you're getting by really well.
I would have loved to see the men's lacrosse team cheering. I can only imagine what it was like. XD I saw two Japanese (maybe? Asian at least) girls today with huge purses with bright designs on them. One was this leather thing with pink plus signs all over it, and the other was a big clear bag with hello kitty designs on it with green straps. I want that one actually. And the hoodie she was wearing, too -- it was green with these bears all over it, kinda like gloomy bear. ANYWAY I'm sure you're seeing lots of stuff like that. FUN TIMES YAY

Yes, I meant English... yes.. I corrected it.

I wanted to jump pretty much every man on the Lacrosse team.

Asian women love huge purses. You don't even know.

so i miss you and luv you. suzie and eric went home for my birthday last weekend, which was nice, but my mom and i fought for like a week before hand. i can't say it enough, i really miss you. this quarter has been a little rough because i dont have much friend time and my too BEST friends are out of town...one too far away to call (sad face). some of my residents this year are jerks and there has been some stuff going on that i really cant handle, but cant discuss with anyone either...which is really wearing down on me. i just feel so distant from everyone lately...i dont know why. but im teaching the RA class this year, which is fun. I really like the RC that im teamed with, she is nice and quite down to earth. she also has an obsession with vampires which just makes everything better. you would like her...she has an amazing sense of humor. i wish you were here...i could use a jen day. but anyway, im glad that you are having a good time and getting amazing at japanese.
luv you always

p.s. congrats on the weight loss
