It was one of the zero-lot lines that we liked ... and two of the ones we went to see were just for demonstration of what kinds of houses & space they have, as they were already conditionally sold.
As it was, we saw the house that we ended up buying on a Monday (I think), and we wanted to take a 2nd look at it (without the inhabitants in the house), so we scheduled a 2nd look for Sunday. Then on Thursday we got word that someone else was putting in a bid, so Friday we went out during lunch and looked at it again and decided to put a bid of our own in as well.
My offer was originally $100 over the asking price (as we were competing, and we liked it), and then for $10,000 less after the home inspection. The guy probably didn't like that, but oh well ^_^
And yeah, there'll be some fun with some rewiring on the breakers, patching up some drywall, taking out a room in the basement.
At the moment, the plan is to just borrow tools from my dad, as I'll still be living there for the first bit while we do some renovations on the house. But thanks for the offer -- I'll let you know if I want to take you up on it ^_^
