I use V8 in almost all tomato based things, especially chilis and soups. I think that substituting it for tomato adds a lot of taste.

Based entirely on your rec, I've bought some V8 to make veggie soup tomorrow. That being the case, if it goes pear-shaped, I'm holding you accountable. :D

I made veggie soup today using v8 base. I use it in chili and swiss steak and soups and stews. I used it the other day to make pork and cabbage.

I think it will go fine.
