kiss & swallow.
The broken CCTV cameras in the hallway are a dead giveaway, and Lu Han lets a small grin tug at his lips as he pushes open the heavy wooden door, his heart picking up tempo in anticipation. It has been a while. Those familiar broad, strong shoulders and that firm, pert ass are such sights for the sore eyes. He wants to enjoy the view a little longer, especially as the kid's leaning down over a body on the floor (dead with a broken neck and a knife to the stomach), but he's missed that face, too.
"Didn't the years on the job teach you never to stand with your back to the door?"
The kid visibly jumps, whirling back while throwing himself sideway, using the nearby armchair as a shield. How cute, Lu Han thinks. Kai looks as charming as the last time they met - dark hair carelessly swept back, swollen lips red with a hint of blood, black shirt stretching tight across solid shoulders. The tension bleeds out of those shoulders when Kai recognizes his presence.
"Oh. It's you." Kai gets back on his feet again, shoes stepping on the wrist of a limp hand on the floor. "That door was locked." His eyes narrow, half in accusation and half in annoyance.
"I didn't notice." Lu Han shrugged, smiling. He makes his way to the very dead Kim Dongwan, careful not to step in the pool of blood slowly spreading out from the body. His eyes sweep over the unnatural twisted angle of the head, down to the mess of torn flesh and ripped open sponge-like organs in the abdomen. He catches sight of the weapon as he glances to the side, and Lu Han lets out a small gasp of awe as he takes in the sight of the dagger dripping with blood. The handle is etched in gold, depicting a dragon and a phoenix swirling around a red ruby. Its blade is ragged, the metal dark and slightly splotchy with rust. A treasure from Kim Dongwan's own private collection, no doubt.
"How did you even get him to get this out of the safe?" Lu Han looks up from admiring the dagger. Kai shrugs, not meeting Lu Han's eyes as his fingers deftly button up his shirt. Lu Han tilts his head, taking in Kai's entire appearance for the first time. Disheveled hair, swollen lips, dress shirt falling open in the front revealing a strip of smooth bronze skin leading up to collarbones adorned with reddened bite marks... Oh. "Oh. You've learned to play dirty."
"Thanks to you," Kai bites back, and Lu Han mourns the stretch of smooth skin as the shirt is buttoned all the way up. He steps over the body, going over to invade Kai's personal space. Kai tenses when Lu Han places his hands on his hips, but he doesn't pull away.
"Should I start charging tutoring fee then?" His hands dip under the edge of the shirt, creeping up the warm skin of Kai's hips. His fingers stroke over the edge of Kai's hipbones, down to where they dip into the waistband of his pants. He could feel the minute shiver of Kai's body under his touch, the muscles of the stomach fluttering when Lu Han's thumb brushes over his belly button.
Lu Han pulls away the moment he feels Kai lean towards him, obviously angling for a kiss. He walks towards the giant glass case on the other side of the room, ignoring Kai's eyes burning into his back.
The ornate swords line up according to their timeline, majestic weapons of the Joseon Dynasty, their dark blades slightly ragged but still deadly and stunning in their beauty. Lu Han leans back, picking up a heavy trophy nearby, and smashes the glass with one swing. He takes a few steps back as broken glass rained down like a waterfall. When the cacophony is over, he steps closer, shoes crushing the shards to the floor as he runs his hand lightly over the gorgeous treasures inside. His hand came to a stop as it reached a beauty with three swirling dragons etched across the long blade, the handle ebony black with an elegant gold dragon head ring at the end. Lu Han lifts the sword from the stand, flexing his wrist as he swings it around, feeling the weight and the power.
Kai is still staring at him with a guarded look, eyebrows furrowed. Lu Han smiles, walking back towards him. He holds the sword out, blade down, and Kai reluctantly takes it from his hand, their fingers brushing.
"You've done most of the job for me, so might as well finish it." He answers Kai's questioning gaze, nodding his head towards Kim Dongwan's body. "A sword through the heart."
"Why?" Kai turns to look. "He's already dead."
"It's symbolic. Kris likes symbolic around here."
"A mark of power from the Triad." Kai purses his lips. "But I'm not even a part of your mad house."
"You could be," Lu Han smiles, tilting his head.
"Kyungsoo would murder me first." Kai snorts, but he's already walking towards the fallen body, the sword held firmly in his hand.
"You know I'm serious, right? You and your little friends are nothing but a group of contract killers living on the sideline. Convenient pawns at best and annoying rats at worst. You could be a part of something so much bigger if you are with us. Power, money, a certain future."
The sword comes down with a sharp swoosh and a muffled wet noise, the dark metal blade splitting the heart open and pinning the body to the floor. Kai always has the best aim.
When Kai walks back to him, he allows himself to tilt his head for a kiss this time, Kai's lips warm and firm against his own. He thinks about how he could taste a dead man on Kai's lips as Kai's hands find his own, linking their fingers together on both sides of his face. He thinks about how Kai is smearing blood on the edge of his jawline. The heat between their bodies is intoxicating, their shoulders and chest and thighs brushing with every flick of tongue. He thinks about that first time they kissed inside a blazing building being burnt down by EXO K, Kai's loud and shaky exhale sweet on his lips at the first hint of tongue. Kai was also holding his hands like this, not exactly out of a need for connection, but to make sure that Lu Han wouldn't suddenly reach for a hidden blade and stab him in the stomach.
They only reluctantly pull away when both of them are out of breath, panting hotly against each other's lips.
"I don't know, maybe we like being annoying rats," Kai breathes the words against his lips, and Lu Han chuckles, shaking his head. He couldn't stop nipping on Kai's plush lower lip, playing with it using teeth and tongue. Kai's body is so warm in his arms, and Lu Han could feel the weight of his arousal on his thigh. He pushes those broad shoulders, and Kai goes down easily, dropping to his knees. Lu Han's thumb brushes over the plush swollen lips, dipping slightly into the wet heat. A tiny flick of tongue, and Lu Han's breath catches. Kai's eyes are dark with arousal as he mouths over the curve of Lu Han's cock.
"The data chip you brought back from Kim Dongwan's place the other day... I can't open it." Minseok frowns over his laptop the moment Lu Han steps through the door.
"What? Are you telling me I went through all that trouble for you to just say 'I can't open it'?" Lu Han laughs.
It actually wasn't as much trouble as he thought it would be, since Kai had already done the big job when he arrived. Routing the assassination order to EXO K through a third party was a good idea. (Kris would disapprove if he knew, but Lu Han considers missing a good fuck a good excuse.) All he had to do was pick the chip up from the opened safe near the glass case with the swords. He even made sure to be discreet about it, making a show with smashing that whole glass case to distract Kai because he didn't want him to know what Lu Han was really there for. Win-win situation for everyone involved, Lu Han thought, until he's met with Minseok's frowny face.
"I'm telling you, something doesn't match up." Minseok spins the laptop around to show Lu Han. A blank screen greets him, only a black cursor blinking on the first line. "It's like the whole chip is empty, are you sure-"
The door suddenly slams open, and both Lu Han and Minseok jump as Kris barges in, glowering at them as he's crushing a phone in his grip.
"I've just got a call from EXO K asking if we want to buy back the Kim Dongwan data chip from them for two hundred fucking thousand dollars." He lets that sink in for a beat before pinning down Lu Han with a glare. "Care to explain yourself, Lu Han?"
It only occurs to Lu Han then that after years of people spending fortunes for just an hour of his service, he's just had the most expensive fuck in his life.
