Such a neat buildup to the payoff, with all nuances from Han thoroughly analyzed by Luke. I liked the way that Leia was there even when she wasn't and the "I've gone and changed everything, haven't I?" moment. You even threw in Owen and Beru and their gallant efforts to make Luke into a 'normal' person with 'normal' expectations of happiness in their life, even when he wasn't. Good!

Thanks very much for reading and commenting :)

I'm glad you liked the mention of Leia. I find it hard to leave her out of stories, even when the focus is Luke and Han, because she's such an integral part of their lives. I like the idea that the friendship between them would stay strong always, regardless of any other type of relationship developing between two of them.

I think Owen and Beru are wonderful characters, and the more I think about them the stronger I think they must have been. I'd like to write more stories with some focus on them.

Weee~! wtf! I haven't read this one before, how come I didn't notice it on my friend's list? >_<

*sighs* Love their witty banter and that kiss! I'm in love with how you write Han and Luke!

^_^ Great oneshot! *Goes to re-read*

LJ is weird sometimes - lots of things haven't showed up on my friends page and I can never work out why! I had to write this one really quickly, but I kind of like writing challenges in time limits because otherwise I never get anything finished. I'm just so slow!

Thanks for reading and I'm glad you liked it :D. And I love kissing between them too *sigh*

Awwwwww yay! This was sweet.

And I love the "it'll get everywhere" at the end. Like father like son!

I couldn't resist the sand comment! Hopefully Luke will have some good sand memories now!

Great work!

This was such a solid character study, and the interaction between the two of them, both in the dialogue back-and-forth and the more observational moments felt really natural. You also have a nice eye for detail without going overboard.

Han's one of those characters, for me, that I can never seem to picture 'slashing'. So brava to you, because you really made it work -- quite believable in the understated fashion you employ here.

And this... this is just lovely:

Han didn't speak for a few moments, and Luke wondered if he'd gone too far. Or maybe not far enough. He rested his back against the breakwater again and wondered why it was that the same feelings that brought him happiness could also generate so much confusion.

Thanks so much for reading, and I'm very glad the story worked for you :)

Han is someone I only really became interested in through Luke/Han, when I started to examine all those little cracks in the surface of his image, if that makes sense. Also, I'm very much a movie-canon only person - I have read a lot of the EU, but couldn't get to grips with the way Han and Luke were portrayed there.

Thanks for taking the time to comment - I appreciate it :)

Hmm.
Luke/Han... it's not a pairing that I've ever read before (ok, I admit, I haven't really read *any* SW fics!).

Nevertheless, I enjoyed this, the build up and the payoff at the end were very well done. And I liked the echoes to the films and the parts of canon we already know, esp the line about the sand. It gave this a really nice "full-circle" kind of feel that I liked.

Thanks very much for reading and commenting :). I'm glad you enjoyed it, even though Han/Luke isn't a pairing you've read before.

I love the 'full-circle' type of imagery in Star Wars, so I'm happy that the sand comment worked that way for you too.

I hope you enjoy getting into all the SW fic there is around :)
