Art rec: Luke and Han

May 08, 2008 09:59

I found this lovely piece of art on DeviantArt a few days ago. It's by NautilusL2 and shows Luke and Han from the deleted sandstorm scene from Return of the Jedi.

I really wish Lucasfilm would release the actual footage of that scene, rather than just the few stills we have.

Great artwork ! XD

It's really beautifully done and kind of reminds me of a Han/Luke art work my doujinshi writer friend did a while ago.

Arigatoh so much for sharing this ! :)

It is beautiful isn't it?

Is the piece of art work your friend did on-line at all? If it's not one I know, I'd really love to see it :)

Oh yes, it's lovely, thanks for the link. :) And I agree it would be good if that scene wasn't deleted.
I keep hoping the deleted scenes are safely stored somewhere, and they will be available to watch some time in the future.

It is lovely isn't it? I came across it just by chance, so it was a nice surprise!

I too hope the deleted scenes are stored safely and will be released one day. I feel sure Lucasfilm must release some more of them soon. I hoped we'd get the sandstorm scene when they brought out the original, non-special-edition DVDs, but no such luck! Now I'm wondering if they're being saved up for a big special edition of all films. Or maybe I'm delusional...

They seem like they are at the start of something, just appreciating each other happily. Nice beige tones, could go on pretentiously about the color scheme here, ha, but it's just nice to look at.

I agree that they seem like they're at the start of something. Of course, I would think that... Their expressions are very warm towards each other, and seem that way on the stills that have been released too.

I love the colours she's used, but won't venture into analysis either. Only, I do love the way the artist described them as being bound to each other in the twisting sand!
