Anyone know of a great seamstress who uses steel boning instead of plastic? Who is talented and can make excellent bodices for Faire?

She made an my Iron Maiden, steel, held up in rain, mud, and snow and functions like no other. She also has excellent prices.

You know? I've had good and bad times with plastic boning. I once found this braided stuff that worked as well as the steel boning ever did, but JoAnn's has never carried it since that I've seen. I generally use plastic, because you can find it! The only source I can find that sells stainless steel boning requires that you know in advance how big the peices have to be, then have it mailed to you. When I'm in the middle of a project, the last thing I want do is wait a week for an order of boning to come in. (Then find out, you measured to the wrong seam, so everything is 1/4" too long, but you don't want to cut it, because they've finished off the ends so nicely, and if you attacked it with metal shears, you'd have to figure out a way to file down and coat the ends as nicely as they did.)

So, cider induced rambling aside: If you find a source for steel boning, would you pass their name along to me? I'd like to comparison shop.
(And, no, you don't want me to do your sewing for you. I do great costume work, but at this point in

sewing carreer, I've realized most people who want Ren clothes, want more than a costume. They want AUTHENTICITY! Which I can't provide.) (Sorry for the double comment, somehow I hit send. I blame the border collie. And the cider.)
