Next Saturday will be our 1/2 year semiversary. I think we're doing well. We've started going for walks after work, just so we can talk about whatever because of the stress and frustration I've been feeling. That is very good. Another thing that's good is venting here because I think it helps me talk to him when the opportunity presents itself. A ( Read more... )

Here is a picture of it. http://www.shopnbc.com/product/?familyid=J181334&storeid=1&page=LIST&sort=0&category=Jewelry%7Ct305&prop=Rings%7C176&prop=Sapphire%7C551&catprop=551&track=176&cm_re=SearchList-_-N-_-N

If you scroll down in the choices to the white gold, blue sapphire, you'll see it in truth.

So pretty!

Sounds like most things are going well in Nicciland. Jason and I were talking on the drive back down to Austin after Easter about friends that we chat with online but don't see in RL, despite proximity. Your name came up! We oughtta do a double date some night, it'd be fun.

Wait... you can be CERTIFIED as a wedding consultant? Who does that? Where?

Seriously, Rich and I have been talking about this ever since we heard on NPR that an "average" wedding cost $15,000. So, we were speedballing about starting "Discount Weddng Planners" We did everything in our own wedding for under $5000, and that included a three day honeymoon. Aside from not having a D.J. at our reception, we did most everything you expect at a wedding ceremony. So, seriously, who? where? and how?
(I suppose I could probably look this up, but I like word-of-mouth referals when I get them.)

Ok, I've thought about it a lot and, while I know that it can be done to put a wedding on for considerably less than people do, I am happy that people want to spend 15,000 or more on their wedding. That is what I'm hoping for as a business.

Just like people can get a very nice house (here in TX) for around 175,000 but many spend 200,000 or more to get more special touches.

The people who only spend $5000 on a wedding are not likely to find it worthwhile to hire someone to help them with the planning. Not to mention, it would be very difficult to make any kind of income with a discount service.

Classes, however, can be found online at www.ashworthuniversity.edu.

Good lucknstein
