I don't think you can give up A. You have to take a stab and you'll always meet people who HATE what you do. Hell, if readers can slam Jim Lee, there is always a question of what's good art. Sad thing is, I think what I presented was very "english"; carictatured faces, slightly dirty and worn look.. I wonder whether it's just out of fashion ( Read more... )

Being a comic book reader of over 20 years, I know that you can never please everyone. I actually like Jim Lee's artwork. His pencil work on All Star Batman and Robin recently has been superb. On the other hand I can't stand Rob Liefeld or Todd McFarlane, but that has more to do with their antics outside of comic book art ( ... )

There's always an inner clique in the arts, and if you aren't in it or aren't willing to compromise yourself to get in, you're up the creek. On the flip side, there's always a fringe that starts out as weird and on the edge, then they become the next big thing. Don't be trendy, be you.

Take your avvie to heart and just submit 2000 ad a photo of you mooning with the caption "Bite meh!" Or just send it my way. :D
