My piano work was going well today. Working to make the first basic C-Scale as fluid as possible using the right finger patterns and consistency for both hands. From my rackety old brain regarding scales:
major scale -- whole whole half whole whole whole half (CDEFGABC)
minor scale -- whole half whole whole half whole whole (CD Eflat FG Aflat Bflat C)
Thumb to middle C, pointer to D, middle to E, ring to F, pinkie to G -- works for simple songs. When you shift up the scale to a full octave, thumb to C, pointer to D, middle to E, ring to F, then "fold" your hand so your thumb can cross behind to hit the G, pointer to A, middle to B, and ring to C.
Others make the "fold" so the thumb hits the F instead. -->
