R.I.P. Dennis Ritchie

Dennis Ritchie, the creator of the C programming language and co-creator of UNIX died on the 8th October.
He was enormously influential within the industry, and most of the modern internet infrastructure is basically built on C and 'C like' languages.

We were discussing him at work and, somewhat arbitarily, decided that he was more important to the history of compting than Steve Jobs. And that Mr Jobs would probably have agreed.

I don't think that's particularly controversial. :)
It's just that Ritchie's work was hidden from the public.
