Those are really lovely. What a wonderful hobby for an academic. I particularly liked the Coptic binding.

I really like the Coptic binding - I actually bought a blank book from an Etsy store with that binding. :)

I gave that one to my Mum for Christmas. :)
That's a pretty straightforward design, I've seen some amazingly beautiful ones on Etsy that require something like 5 threads and 10 needles to sew.
