I do think Laura Marling's album is something special in that it's far removed from all the other somehow-similar female singer-songwriters that have come out of the woodwork in the last year or so.

In Rainbows is remarkable in terms of moving to a new model of musical distribution, but though the music itself has moved on (some of the songs being upbeat, some of them love songs seemingly, etc) I wouldn't say it's enough of a progression to merit the prize. Now Kid A on the other hand...

I really, REALLY hope the Last Shadow Puppets don't get it. It seems unlikely what with the Arctic Monkeys having already won...

If The Last Shadow Puppets win that prize then I'll lose what respect I have for it. Alex Turner doesn't need any more MMPs.

Like I say below - I want BSP to win.

Goodness, what an underwhelming list. I think I want Laura Marling to win, although that's just a nice record really, nothing particularly amazing.

I like the Radiohead one best, but do they need to win the thing? I figure they've had enough awards by now.

Apparenty Burial is the new front runner and he is "the banksy of the music world" - great.

I should listen to Neon Neon, my friend Fran loves that album and Gruff's always been quite cool in SFA.

I love LM's album a lot, but I really don't think it breaks any boundaries. There are songs on there that are basically Suzanne Vega.

I want BSP to win if I'm brutally honest. I think they're a really underrated band and deserve a bit more recognition than they're getting. I love BSP.

I love Elbow I do.
I'm going to walk down the aisle to One Day Like This!
