I wish the tv stations would actually start showing the umpire ejecting the player...kinda lame if they dont.

C'mon, Twins...you're usually classier than that! I know you have some key players out, have struggled early this year and are coming off a couple tough losses in Tampa. But really? A couple of borderline pitches that were actually called correctly is enough to make you come unglued? Us fans that also know the game of baseball expect better of you.

Tough Nite For Gooch anonymous April 19 2011, 21:36:44 UTC
I watched the whole game and Gooch did miss quite a few pitches both for and against the Twins.

I think the pitch to Kubel was a strike but the pitch to Thome was not.

The catcher did not help Gooch on the pitch to Kubel and that made the pitch seem out of the zone to both Kubel and Gardy.

Good job by Gardy protecting his players with a depleted bench.

Could very well be you're right about earlier calls, but go back and look at the three pitches to Kubel that led to the immediate ejection. With two strikes, he's gotta take the bat off his shoulder on that third one. Not very classy for the dugout to unload about any of those pitches during that at bat.
