I think this is a noble and important cause you have taken upon yourself, and I will help as much as I can. It IS a shame that zoos are so close-minded to other alternatives. There were three little tiger cubs born at the Louisville Zoo recently, or like last year or something, and they needed names. Really, it should have been obvious that the contest was open to children, and any name said child could think of was acceptable, and somehow they would choose the winning name/bestower of name. Anywho, the people who won, their children were so little they couldn't even form coherent sentences, and the mom was obviously the one who had gone and looked up everything and chosen "authentic" names from wherever in the hell these kind of cats hailed from, and the names were so stupid I forgot them before the interview was over. I really wished the had been named Tom, Dick, and Hairy. lol, not Harry, but Hairy.

It's the principle of a name. A name is supposed to be about YOU, not your country of origin.
