...why do I get the feeling you're going to reverse L and Light's roles? Make L the psuedo-criminal not in charge of his own actions? The asylum is a particularly ominous sign, I think.
And to say something you can actually respond to, I love the relationship L has with chief Yagami - typical detective-gon-astray-we-will-miss-him stuff, but you get the feeling the Chief is really good at what he does and that makes me happy.
I have instituted a policy in which any response from me to speculation will automatically consist of (and only of) a mysterious smile and the words "you'll see."
::mysterious smile:: You'll see.
I'm glad that got through. I was a little worried about the coherency of this chapter. Does it make sense?
If by "make sense" you mean: L is plating by the book and has gone to turn in his letter from Kira as evidence into an ongoing investigation; that that investigation concerns the second "accidental" death of an officer; that the first was Utika and the second is somehow connected to the BB Serial Killer case; that this made a lasting impression on L and he (subsequently? concurrently?) left the Force because of it, then yes. If you meant something else then no.
Also, that Light and L make the best team ever and it is love, love.
I'm not sure if it was before or after you edited it, but I got what you were trying to say now. ^^ Yay. XP
I love this series so much. You've obviously planned this out very thoroughly, and I'm anxiously awaiting next week (and hopefully Sunday) to see the next chapter.
I got that too, although you made it clear in the last chapter. This stuff is fascinating so far. I really want to know just what kind of relationship L had with the BB Serial Killer.

I guess I didn't make sense.
The guy killed just now was the BB Serial Killer.
Now I must edit to make that clearer.
I need a better "imsuchadumass" icon. "Clueless," though punny, just doesn't cut it.
