I'm sorry to hear you are feeling sick. Why do you think you will get fired? Surely they wouldn't want you to go into work while you are sick.

A girl got fired the other day for being absent on Monday, and I'm already not doing so hot in the call center. But we'll see.

Wow, that sounds crappy. If you do get fired, it is just a sign that they suck and you are worth better. More and more businesses think they can get away with treating their employees like crap in this economy. Unfortunately it looks like they can. :(
