Survey

Jul 08, 2011 13:15

Because I have very little, if anything to say, the best I can utilise this damn journal is to participate in surveys!

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
I was named after my Grandmother, contrary to what you might automatically assume. When my parents were deciding what they were going to call me, my Uncle opened his big mouth in front of my Grandmother to my parents and said “You should name her after her Grandmother!” If you knew my Grandmother you’d know why this suggestion had my parents shuddering inside, but luckily, I have Eric Clapton to hide behind! “Are you named after the Eric Clapton song?” “Why yes I am!”

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Last Wednesday. My boss had a bipolar moment and told us all we that we basically were not doing enough work.

And I was at the end of financial year when you couldn’t possibly be any more stressed out.

She lost a lot of respect that day.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
Sometimes it’s nice and neat and other times (like when I have had too much coffee) it’s positively juvenile!

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
Does bacon count? And if so why not? I would argue that Bacon is just as relevant at lunch as it is to breakfast as it is at dinner.

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
No I don’t. But I have family and it’s much the same.

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
I think I would. I often wonder if I get on people’s nerves and they just don’t tell me, but then again I don’t care.

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM ALOT?
Who me? Noooooooo! :P

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?
I do. We had a rocky few years back when I was still in the single digits, but we stuck by each other and made it work.

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
I am going to say no. I used to think that I probably would, but I am becoming more deathly afraid of heights in my old age and to be perfectly honest the thought does not appeal anymore.

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
It used to be Froot Loops until I moved to North America and discovered Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

I quite like the humble Weet Bix too, but let’s face it. They’re not coated in sugar!

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
No. I try to arrange my lasses loose enough for me to slip in and out and quickly and efficiently as possible. You know how it is, places to go, people to see, can’t waste time doing shoe laces all the time!

12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?

Hmmm. To be perfectly honest no I don’t. I could elaborate, but I don’t want to blow everyone’s perceptions of me out of the water :P

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
I am still dreaming about this Strawberry, Basil and Mint gelato that I had in Gastown Vancouver. I have vowed to one day purchase an ice cream maker to try my hand at recreating it.

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
Their demeanour and how they respond to me. If they look like their sizing me up like they’re trying to decide if I’m worthy of their time, I’ll upper cut them in my mind and move right along to more engaging company.

15. RED OR PINK?
Red. It’s a bit more direct and to the point than pink, however of course they both still have their time and place.

16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
My indecision. Not knowing what I want to do with my life is the most frustrating thing on earth and even when people try to counsel me on it, I annoy myself with my responses.

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?
Laura. Being apart has been a really tough experience. But it’s just a few more weeks until we are back together J

18. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTER TRAIT A PERSON CAN HAVE?

Integrity. I like it when people know themselves enough to recognise the motives behind why they do what they do and make their decisions based on the person they are and not who everyone thinks they are or what they want them to do. I really admire people with a good heart who march to the beat of their own drum.

19. WHAT COLOR SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
Back ballet slippers. My work shoe of choice. I don’t do heels in the office. Especially on days when am not bothered to do my hair.

20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
Sourdough toast and skim Cappuccino.

21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
I am actually listening to a song call “The Grace” by The Neverending White Lights feat. Dallas Green and thinking how much Dallas’ singing style has changed since this song. He sings with a lot more command now which I don’t mind, but his softer breathier singing from yesteryear literally makes me weak.

22. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
Turquoise.

23. FAVORITE SMELLS?
The nape of a man’s neck, home cooking and clean hair and bed sheets.

24. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
My underwriter. Not a conversation worth sharing unless you’re particularly turned on by reinsurance.

25. MOUNTAIN HIDEAWAY OR BEACH HOUSE?
I’d be over the moon about either, but if I had to pick, I think I’d pick the beach house. I really enjoy falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

26. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?
Rugby League. Beefy men running around in tiny, tight shorts and tight jerseys, what more do I need to say? And Hockey. I like some good old fashioned biff.

27. HAIR COLOR?

Dark brown

28. EYE COLOR?

As above.

29. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
Not right now, but I do require sight correction lenses be them contacts or glasses. I prefer contacts, but…alas. Too expensive for me right now, so back to the humble coke bottles.

30. FAVORITE FOOD?
I enjoy the comfort of Italian food and the excitement of Indian. I also love French food.

31. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
Scary movies. Builds character. Even though gore makes me squeamish, so does the watery dialogue in a chick flick.

I will never be a Notebook girl.

32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
Fast Five. Was hoping to see Paul Walker with his shirt off, but left disappointed. I still want him to father my children though.

33. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING?
What is this a 1800 number? Anyway….Purple…you?

34. SUMMER OR WINTER?
Winter, but Australian Winter not Northern Alberta Winter. Or New York winter…which almost killed me.

35. HUGS OR KISSES?
Both at the same time. Le sigh.

36. FAVORITE DESSERT?
Depends on the weather. In winter I like warm desserts like Melting Chocolate cake and in summer I like strawberry ice cream.

37. STRENGTH TRAINING OR CARDIO?
Swimming is kind of both right? I like to swim. And walking around in cities I don’t know very well. That’s about the extent of exercise I do.

38. COMPUTER OR TELEVISION?
Computer. It’s much more enjoyable to slowly work my way through all of the hotness on my Tumblr dashboard than watch the drivel of television.

39. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW?
I don’t read. I try to but I am impatient and I’d rather write.

40. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
Mouse pads are so 1990. The beauty of a fibre optic mouse is that you don’t have to have a mouse pad. But If I was going to have a mouse pad, I would get one made from one of those internet site where you can design your own, and make it with a picture of John Mayer in the green mankini on the background.

42. FAVORITE SOUND?

I like the sound of being underwater.

43. ROLLING STONES OR BEATLES?
The Beatles. I think this is because my parents weren’t necessarily as fussed on The Rolling Stones as they were on The Beatles. Plus my very first memory is of me as a baby and my Mum playing with me on the carpet while she listened to The Beatles.

44. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?
Northern Alberta. Cold. No rush to do it again.

45. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT?
Don’t we ALL? I hate these kinds of questions, it’s like “why should we pay any attention to you?”

46. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
In the arms of imaginary friends…

47. WHERE ARE YOU LIVING NOW?
Sydney Australia

48. WHAT COLOR IS YOUR HOUSE?

Roughly the same colour as your mum.

49. WHAT COLOR IS YOUR CAR?
I don’t drive. For many reasons. One. I have a kind of phobia about car accidents. Two, it’s too expensive. The cost of having, maintaining a car, insurance etc is unjustifiably expensive. I consider it a boycott of sorts that I don’t drive. and 3, I have always lived in a city with public transport far reaching enough to be able to get me wherever I have needed to go.

50. DO YOU LIKE ANSWERING 50 QUESTIONS?
Of course! I like it even better when people do it too and I can see their answers…hint…hint
