While there are quite a few grains of truth to what was presented in that movie, remember that it is Michael Moore and therefore highly sensationalised. He makes a great point with it though.
Health care would be the least of the reasons to leave the States, is the point I make.
HEEY!!!! Tonight, or tomorrow, Viveza? I want to see both you and Dawn. :)
regarding the above comment: yes, moore does appeal to emotional responses in his films, sometimes too much. but without that approach, most of his intended audience - average, blue collar americans - would fail absorb the larger picture of his true-yet-unsexy content. most people, desensitized by an endless avalanche of mass media and advertising, need one of two things in order to pay attention to documentaries. either the film must be very emotionally moving, or the production has to be super-slick and polished. without one or the other, no one listens

I understand what you're saying and I agree that the information he provides is important and valid--Americans generally do need to be clobbered about the head before they understand something is *wrong*.
But do you think Michael Moore's movie is going to motivate anyone to do something? Have you noticed an increase in national awareness across the country as a result of his movie? He took 9/11 rescue workers to Guantanamo Bay. How is that helping anything? Where in the movie does he offer any solutions? People need to get out and vote, and actually *work* on being aware of their political--specifically locally political-- environment to make change. That's where we will fail.
Part of America's apathy has a lot to do with a sense of futility, which I argue Moore does little to quell.
I'm going to send some money each month to my old manager because I know he needs it. he lost his job and is having a lot of health problems. it's what I can do to help one person. It's not much but it's a start
