My dad and I were discussing what should happen with Hodgson. It's not the Liverpool way to sack managers after only a few bad results, and the last thing we need is more instability. I'd like to see what Hodgson does in the winter transfer window, for one thing

You're totally spot on. We have such big players - the names I listed are hardly relegation zone-worthy - yet Hodgson hasn't found a way to play them together. It shouldn't be such a hard thing to do. Most managers would be creaming themselves if they had these players.
And it's ridiculous for Hodgson to try and gloss over how badly we're playing. The supporters aren't stupid; we know that this is light years from being good enough, and we don't appreciate being told otherwise.
Ugh, sorry to rant at you. Thanks for reading the post even though you're a Gunner. Much appreciated. :)

I totally agree with you. The problem with Hodgson is that he seems to be a lost cause. He seems to be waiting for things to get even worse before he'll change. And at this point, the only way it can get worse would be for us to reach a point that is unsalvageable. By which time it'll be too late to change.
I agree that our defence isn't very different to that defence we had a couple of years ago, but we are lacking a strong defensive midfield in front of it, which I think is exposing the defence's problems. Carra is ageing, and I've unconvinced by Škrtel for a while now, not to mention our wingbacks who don't know how to defend. Having the likes of Mascherano and Alonso meant that the opposition's attacking players couldn't run at us and expose us quite so quickly - though they did do so on occasion (like against Arsenal), and then we saw how shaky the defence actually was.
I agree that Hodgson is no Rafa. It kills me that Rafa is still getting shat on by the English media. Bunch of racists, really, I think.
