i don't want to wake up; you can't let go of me yet.

A part of me doesn't want to finish Traces, because no longer knowing that it's there to be finished will see me having to write something else, and I don't think anything could quite live up to it from my perspective as its author. I've never enjoyed writing a fic more. Going back to non-AU fic will feel like a step backwards in terms of ( Read more... )

Congrats on your graduation. I remember when I graduated and I wondered what the hell I was gonna do. Didn't think I'd be stuck in retail over 2 years later though. Bloody recession, lol. Though technically it's more to do with me not knowing what to do next, lol.

Good luck with the ceremony and then the job hunting, heh.

Thanks very much! :)

Yeah, I don't really have any sort of a plan of what I'm going to do. What did you study?

English and History, lol. It was mostly a case of 'ooh subjects that I'm not bad at and actually enjoy', rather than an actual plan, haha.

Ha, I based my choice of degree on exactly the same thing. I do often wish I were better at science and actually enjoyed it. I might have been able to study medicine or something generally more useful!

HURRAH & HUGS! Hopefully, there are delicious snacks in your graduation ceremony. :D Allow yourself some much-deserved downtime. The job market is brutal and soul-crushing in my experience, so I hope/confidently know that you'll have it easier. Good vibes/fruitful optimism to you, Ish. ♥

But the three things keeping me firmly on the track toward the world of cubicles and office memos are my family's painful history of the dole, the incredibly alluring promise of leaving my work at work and being able to do jack shit post-6pm every evening, and gettin' me some funds for my trip to Japan+China next year. Got my mind on my money, and I'm not goin' away.Sigh. The "dole" part makes me cringe because I can relate so much. :( And OMG, I hope you'll love Japan. Please visit Osaka, my onetime home. Please visit Kobe, the wonderful land where Europe and Japan collide. Please visit Kyoto and be a geisha for a day. Spend a night at a love hotel for LOLs and to marvel at the miraculous cleanliness of the theme bedrooms. Please take an ( ... )

HAHAHAHAHA you are a riot.

Thank you, love. ♥

It breaks my heart to know that the job market and its Hades, the dole, have claimed you in some form. Are you working right now or studying full-time?

I will try to visit all of those places, definitely, definitely. I have never heard of love hotels but am now considerably motivated to research them. And I will certainly share photos and stories! I did that for my mini voyage to Europe last year and I actually found it a useful place to sum up my memories of the places I visited.

And OMG, T.I.! :D :D :DHee, yes! I have had a weakness for T.I. ever since his incredibly attractive cameo in Justin Timberlake's 'My Love', and now I'm a little obsessed. (And I told you I didn't have anything against hip-hop as a genre ( ... )

Aw, thank you. ♥ My family's on and off love affair with the dole makes me cringe about income/gainful employment. However, what doesn't kill us makes us laugh, right? At the moment, I get by through my savings from my Japan stint, and casual, useless jobs involving filing and cataloguing shit I barely understand. Job-hunting for permanent position (plus benefits, including a dental plan and a gym membership, LOL) is definitely a preoccupation ( ... )

Ahh, I need casual, useless jobs!

Oh my god. I need to find an obsession and then a love hotel to match it. Like, football-related kink or something. Though the fact that kink and Hello Kitty are at all relatable is fascinating. Like, how on earth?

You could have whatever you like.

The one AU I've read was written by frecklesandink and it was a Sernando. Fernando was blind and met Sergio while they were walking their dogs, lol. It was dramatic and implausible but strangely wonderful. The author was one of my favourites which is why I read it.

You sure about that, love? It's a pretty dull life. Though I may be willing to trade should you do me the pleasure of introducing yourself. ;)

My life is nothing but time wasted on the computer all day.

Oh, and I'm Flen.

My life isn't much more. Though I try to convince myself that hours of writing constitutes something a little more than a 'waste'. ;)

I'm Ish. Nice to meet you, m'dear. I'm going to add you now, since I suppose that's what's ~done after introductions are made!

OMG, are you graduating (as in in the great hall graduating) this year?! I thought you guys do the ceremony next year? When is it, may I come if I'm not working that day?

and congrats again! Good luck with the job hunting, and yes, just keep thinking about what you're going to get from that job! heheh! I hope it all works out and you can go on your trip next year!

REgarding fic, I think I will need to wait a bit more before I start fic-reading again.. and even then, I don't know if I really will go back to March 09 or just give up and start now. .. meh.

How are you! (and yes, I realise its rude of me to ask only now) and how is your kitten? =)

Ohh, the ceremony is in April next year, yes. But for the purposes of job & postgrad applications, I effectively graduate once I'm done with my last exam, i.e. next Friday. :)
may I come if I'm not working that day?
That is so nice of you, omg. I would love you to be there. ♥

Thank you for the congrats + luck! C:

Hahaha, March 2009. That really is a long way back. I'm sure you could save yourself the trouble by asking for recommendations, so that you know you're only reading the good fics! Or stick to writers that you know and love. Or there's drbillbongo's fic archive, which are essentially his recommendations (and I think his taste is pretty good!).

You're not rude at all! I haven't asked you how you are yet! :| How are you?
I'm pretty well. Taking a couple of days off to do nothing before I start studying again, and loving this warm weather! The cat is not loving it quite so much; he's a bit confused by it. But he's very well otherwise, thank you for asking!

Yay! I would love to come! =) And likewise, I would like to invite you to come to mine, if you have time =D I will send you details elsewhere.

Mm, I guess I could ask for recs, but I don't have a very large friends group so I don't know if there will be many recs. I might go and visit Bill's fanfic site though.

And again, we leave the politeness to the end, ahhaha. I'm well, thanks! Reading and watching movies over the weekend before going back to work, really. The weather is a bit hot (well, the last 2 days really) and I think my cat's a bit disgruntled too. She scratched me the other day, which is a bit out of character for her. hmm.

Yes, I would absolutely love to go to yours! Hee, this is exciting and lovely.

What's your cat's name, again? I can't remember.
And gawsh, my cat ended up throwing up and being generally miserable in the heat. It's cooler and raining now, so he's back to his old self and being adorable.

A part of me doesn't want you to finish Traces either because then it will be over, and I don't want that to happen. I've gotten so used ot the thought of always having a fresh, exciting chapter of this fantastic universe to read! But of course I'm dying to know how it will all resolve, so I hope you're not going to leave us all hanging... *glares a bit* ;) I'm so glad you enjoyed writing this, and I hope there's no doubt in your mind about us enjoying reading it! :D

Looking forward to more of your fics! This fandom really missed your gorgeous stories. :) And please, do prove me right as much and as often as you want! XDD

Good luck with your job applications! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! And wow, you're planning a trip to Japan and China? That sounds amazing! :D

I hope you're not going to leave us all hanging...
In all honesty, it probably won't be posted until next week, because I'm in the middle of exam period, and studying, rather than writing/editing, is taking up all my time. I'm sorry if that's too long a wait, but I'm afraid there's not much I can do about it.

Knowing that you're looking forward to more fics from me is what'll keep me writing. :)

Yes, hopefully I'll be doing Japan and China in July next year. But it all depends on what I end up actually doing next year - working, studying.

And thank you for the good luck! ♥
