Ish. Dude. As excited as I was to see that you've posted the last part of "Traces", I confess that I put off reading this part because it truly sucks that there will be no more updates of this series. Still, now that I've read this, I'm in complete awe, and I feel so privileged to read this. Basically, please expect a terrifying amount of ass-kissing interwoven with my pathetic attempt to leave a semi-substantial comment. Obviously, it would be near impossible for me to give a comment that this beauty of a fic deserves ( ... )

Eileen. Dude. How the hell am I supposed to reply to your comments? Nothing I say can possibly be enough. My icon = me right now.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the character development in this chapter. As always, your observations on every character - succinct and on-point - make me want to throw my hands up in the air. I'm particularly glad that you (still) like Thierry and that you enjoyed the path Lionel ended up taking. I have to say, I never understood the whole crazy-intelligent-barman-miraculously-keeps-to-himself deal in murder mysteries. People that clever, that involved in everything should always have a part to play, surely.

Thank you so much for this gorgeous comment. How I am to reply to your second one, I do not know, but I will - as ever- endeavour to try. You are wonderful.

Proper comment~!

I was looking forward to this so much! You set up everything so wonderfully. (It was a great thing to use as cheer up after clasico too...)

You wrapped up everything so nicely and everyone's been saying the characterizations are brilliant because they really are! <3

The was it. The chapter I was waiting for. The chapter that needed to happen. For the story you set up and for all of the stories of this sort written before.

I can't say I guessed this one, although if I read it straight and really looked closely, I'm sure that you had put clues all along.

This chapter to me showed the most flawed sides of everyone. Guti could not stop his deceit, Henry could not stop his manipulations, Lionel could not stop his glee at others' misfortunes, and Raul could not stop getting caught up in the excitement of the moment (which I'm sure he thinks is a flaw but may or may not be truth be told).

Brilliant as always I was about halfway through the first section when I realized I was holding my breath slightly. And only at the end of the chapter I realized I wasn't anymore.

Additional comments in the second part.

I'm glad you didn't guess it; it would have been tremendously disappointing had everyone known who'd done it at around the fifth chapter or something! But yes, there were clues along the way - small as they may have been. ;)

Thank you for this comment. I'll reply to your other one as well, of course, but to know that you've continued to get something from the characters in this chapter, and that it kept you on the edge of your seat, is incredibly flattering and gratifying.

Well, I never said I wasn't a mindreader... ;)

I realized the murderer just before Raúl said it.
I can't tell you how delighted I am to hear that. That's literally exactly what I was hoping for. I didn't want readers to know who'd done it way in advance, but I didn't want the revelation to be totally out-of-the-blue either, so yay. :)

And it's not bad at all that you empathise with Sergio. On the contrary, I'm glad you do. I didn't want him to be the usual, stereotypical murderer in your conventional murder mystery, killing for money or something like that.

Thank you so much for what you said about the characters. I wanted this part to reveal a little more about several of them, and I'm glad it did. C:

First of all, I'm so sorry I didn't read this sooner. It's all my fault. As I told you, I avoided reading this installment on purpose until now because I didn't want this fic to be over, didn't want to reach a point where there was no further installment to look forward to, to be excited about. I loved this fic so much, enjoyed every part of it, couldn't stop marvelling at the ingenuity and complexity of it all, at the way everything fits, at your characterizations and the intense, absorbing atmosphere of this. There are far too few fics like this, really exciting fics, so I hope you're not too mad at me for wanting to prolong the pleasure of having this to read for as long as possible.

But I read this now. And don't worry, I'm not going to save the second part for later. Now that I've dug into this again and become absorbed again and realised again how absolutely fucking amazing this universe is, I just don't have the strength and patience to wait any longer to read the rest of this. :D So, on to my proper comment:

Oh wow.

Oh wow ( ... )

That's alright! I'm just glad (and, admittedly, relieved) that you've continued to enjoy this up until the end. I must confess, the suspense had me on tenterhooks. ;)

Thank you so much for your compliments. They're a relief, again. You're very kind, and I suppose I'm just thrilled that I've written something detailed and complex enough to merit the kind of incredible feedback you always give. :)

even with a sufficient amount of clues I hardly ever get anything right because my brain is too busy enjoying the experience and refuses to do work
I'm exactly the same! I never know who did it in whodunnits because I'm always too caught up in the fun of it to actually think about it!

But, oh my God, Cáceres as Sergio's double! So there is ONE thing I was right about! I feel so pleased!Yes, I was secretly delighted when you mentioned that back in the comments for chapter six or whatever it was ( ... )
