When it comes to things that don't really matter - Christmas gifts, costume ideas for dress-up parties, fics - I always find myself piling far too much onto my plate and being ludicrously over-ambitious. And then when it comes to the important things - university, job-hunting - I'm quite the opposite. Sad, really. I say this because I have six ( Read more... )

Oh, I do that with bake sales... AND best of luck with jobs and everything! I'm sure something will come up. :)

Oh and ummmm let's see. Well, there's Interpreter of Maladies which is just ridiculously beautiful. And then of course there's Cat's Cradle. Oh and I just read Guildenstern and Rosencrantz Are Dead which is a super quick read but so existential and great. Hahaha. I'm indecisive, if you couldn't tell.

Oh, you bake? Ah!

Thank you so much, love. ♥

All of those books sound fascinating! Thank you for being indecisive.

Occasionally. :) I'm afraid my sister's the more talented baker so I tend to pale in comparison anyway hahaha.

Glad you like 'em!

Butting in, sorry.

Oh, Interpreter of Maladies! ♥ The first story makes me sob. Have you read Unaccustomed Earth?

My favourite book this year was A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. See my flappy entry about it. It's not out yet but homg! Amazing!

And yes! Go Arsenal tonight! I shall be watching, lol.

Ooh, what job do you have that enables you to read books before they come out? Do you work at a publishing company?

It's a shame about the Manc-Arsenal match, no?

Oh just in a book shop, but we have a good relationship with some publishing companies, so they ship out proofs to us sometimes :)

It is. Was a crappy match too. Spent most of it mucking about on the internet instead of actually watching.

Thank you so much. I hope you're right!

And thank you for all the book recommendations! I very much appreciate your novel. The only one of those that I've read is The Kite Runner which was, yes, incredible. Have you read A Thousand Splendid Suns? It's next on my list of books to read.

Sigur Rós is wonderful. :)

omg, butting in, but (no pun intended) A Thousand Splendid Suns is amazing. I like it more than The Kite Runner.

Imagine if one could be paid to write fic. What a world that would be.

Thank you very much! :)

Oh, no need, I've looked it up on Amazon and it sounds very interesting.
