I just went into the list of freed-up usernames, and although the little furry still apparently has Casidhe, Casidhe_Siofra has come available. So I've googled it, and there doesn't seem to be anything bad associated with it (well, not on the first page anyway ( Read more... )

If you're going to change your username properly (i.e. pay for it), go for it, it's really straight forward (I changed mine from 'kittiewitch' a few years ago). You might get a few confused people going 'eh, you're not (whoever)', but they go away pretty quick. That said, if people have deleted their journal or just let it die they tend not to have had big long active flists anyway.

I've never had this problem since I'm the only person in the whole of the internets to use this nickname (I've checked - Google gives all me, baby!) but I think whatever you call yourself on the internet, you're still unique. A number stuck on the end of your nickname isn't going to change that. If it bothers you, go for it, and if it doesn't then stick with what you have.
