I think that friending people you don't know has a 50/50 chance of going to hell. I used to do the whole friending on a whim thing, but then I realized that half of the people I'd friend in that way, I'd end up wanting to drop them a week later, but wouldn't do it cos I felt bad.
At the same time, some of who are now my closest LJ friends were met that way, so it depends, I guess.
Ah, also, while I'm here: When I was 8, my cat ran away for three weeks, then came back completely unharmed. So I guess the point in saying that is don't lose hope just because time is passing.
I fucking hate vindictive, whiney, immature brats.
Amen to that. And I agree with having some idea about who you're friending (especially back) before doing so. You still occasionally get a rude surprise, but it's not nearly as often. There always seems to be at least one that you thought you knew, but then turned out you didn't at all.
And I really do hope your cat turns up safe and sound. It's just so much more worrisom and scarrier when it was at a strange place. Hopefully it'll turn out he was hiding out somewhere inside all along. they can get into some weird places when they've a mind to.
