After researching, the SD 950 has some pretty sweet features but may be a little over the top. The only Canon that I've ever owned is my Rebel and I love her very much. Since you like to take pictures, blow them up, and hang them in your living room, I would recommend something 8.0 mp and up. Once you you have one of these cameras you will want to get a nicer memory card to support the large pictures as well as speed up the delay between taking pictures. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I like the 950 as well, but yeah, it's a bit pricey. I'm now leaning toward the 8MP SD1100 IS. I also like the 750, especially the 3" screen, but the 1100 has Image stabilization and is 8MP in stead of 7.

The SD1100 IS is the highest rated of the ELPH cameras at Consumer Reports, and is also one of three recommended under "cameras that fit in a pocket." Also recommended (and higher rated): Casio Exilim Card EX-S10, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T70. Expensive, but #1 rated point-and-shoot: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300.

If you're not limited to subcompacts, the Canon PowerShot SD870 IS ELPH is one of four recommended under "Best compacts for most people."
