I have sort of a dilemma. My baby is due on November 28 and since I'm having a c-section I can schedule the birth, Okay here is my problem. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince comes out on Nov. 21. So if I deliver on the 17th I could possibly be out of the hospital by then but how would that look if I got a babysitter for my five day old baby

Easy one - miss Turkey day. It comes around every year and there are always left overs. HBP premier comes but once in a lifetime. Then again, I have major movie dork issues so I may not be the best person to ask. :)
Ironically, my best movie going buddy is due early November and she's already told her mom or sister or someone that they WILL be babysitting that night.

If I were you, I'd let the baby stay inside as long as possible. Two weeks early isn't quite premmie status, but the baby could have issues it might not have if it were born as close to the due date as possible. My third son was three weeks early and he had jaundice.

May I ask why you're scheduling a c-section instead of waiting for labor to start? I thought that was commonly done now as it's supposed to be better for babies.

If you chose to have the baby on the 21st, you could still take him/her along to the theatre. Although, when my babies were that age, I really didn't feel like sitting in a theatre seat for 1.5+ hours...
So yeah. Skip Thanksgiving.

I had a c-section with my first child and therefore can schedule one for this onel When I had Kayla the doctor gave me a choice in how I wanted to deliver. So I chose a c-section, The thought df pushing something that big out of me TERRIFIES me. More power to all the women that do it every day. I can't. Anyways the doc told me after Kayla was born if I would have tried to deliver naturally they would have more than likely had to do an emergancy c-xection because my hips are not very wide and off sequence with each other. That explained all my hip trouble while I'm pregnant.

I had my four naturally - not even any drugs. Because of the way I'm built internally, I was told I'd be okay if my kids were in the 6lb range ... well, they were all in the 8 - 9 lb range. *yikes* My first kid actually ripped me internally because he was too big and stuck in the birth canal. After pushing for over two hours he was down far enough that the doctor could use forceps to pull him out. *ouch* The reason they didn't do an emergency C-section is that by the time they decided he was too big he was too far into the birth canal and opening me up and pulling him out that way would've been dangerous.

I only gained about 14lbs with my fourth son. When I arrived at the hospital they estimated his weight to be about 5 & a half pounds - so it was a big surprise when he tipped the scales at 9lbs!

I'd say skip Thanksgiving, but since I'm not American, I don't care about that holiday in the first place. *lol* Sorry. I'm not much of a help.

Well i think that s what I'm going to do. My husband voted for it also. He doesn't want ot miss the movie either.

I'm excited about the movie too. I also heard that we'll have to wait about two years before the last one is finished. *pouts*

And whoa, are you really waiting the baby so soon? Are you big? How are you feeling? How about the move? I know, I know lots of questions. *g* Can't help it.

I've only gained about three pounds. yay! I feel graeat. This pregnancy is nothing like my first were I was sick all the time. The baby is moving very good and everything is looking great so far.

Did you hear they were splitting the final movie into two parts? Part one is suppossed to come out in Nov 2009 and Part 2 is supposed to come out in Feb 2010. I can't wait!!!
