since i love to play devils advocate. let me preface this by saying i could care less how the world was created and how life evolved. it's all interesting to me. and it's all entertainment to me as well.
BUT. scientists were doing a study not too long ago about petrified wood. they were given a part of a tree which was petrified and asked to guess it's age. so all these scientists were guessing millions of years based on the petrification. turns out there was a lightening storm and the hit of a lightening bolt can petrify wood just as quickly as the instigation of age.
however, unless you show me an article that proves what you talked about that was published in a peer reviewed scientific journal i wont take it seriously :)
but otherwise i would think that wood and rock act completely differently and pretty much all fossils are found in limestone (at least the ones concerning birds and stuff as far as i know) so i wouldn't find that to be a reasonable facsimile (is that the right word? i dunno)
hey sweetie, creation and evolution aren't mutually exclusive; religion isn't a bad thing; palentology, feathers and dinos are interesting. rant away. kj
