I finally saw the 9 movie - Tim Burton. I enjoyed it, though it was simple. I think the best part of it was the technical and animation. Also, Danny Elfman kicked ass on the music as always! :) The cast was also pretty impressive

Both were pretty good movies. District 9 has a better story and the flaws of society (either human or alien). 9 is a simpler story yet profound in some ways (I will not say it so I won't spoil the ending for you). Both movies have out-of-the-box plots that some people really like and some others really hate.
I have to agree, I enjoyed District 9 (Have yet to see 9), but I think one of the things that intrigued me about District 9 was that as far as movies go it was refreshingly "fresh", as in it was not a re-imagining, a sequel, or even a re-hash of another story idea. And the having humans as the "bad guys"...Brilliant, after all humans as a lot are a brash, inconsiderate, repulsively conceited species....
Exactly! Humans tend to think so highly of themselves as a species. They have yet to realize that cats, of course, are superior! ;) But, seriously. That movie was very "fresh" as you put it. It was something QUITE new. I can't wait to see (I forget the name of it) but its an animated movie where an astronaut goes to another planet and visits the people there (little green men) who call him an alien, and he says that they're the aliens.
YES! Planet 51, I love in the trailer it shows the mother alien trying to giver her baby medicine and she tell's it that if it doesn't take it a big bad monster is going to come eat it, just as our lowly human drops in, the mother screams and the baby chugs the bottle! LMAO
By the way my two furry knuckle heads say that the revolution is still on schedule, the cats WILL rule the world!!
