Unbelievable!

I just learned from one of my students from St. Petersburg Russia that a Big Mac meal at their McDonald's costs the equivalent of $12 USD. WOW! I can't even IMAGINE that! So.. using the so famous Big Mac index to know the "real" cost of living differences in each country. Still, you are missing the "income" index. So.. I suppose that we could create the "McDonalds Manager Index" and ask each mcdonals store manager in the world how much he/she earns. By comparing both numbers we could finally be able to answer the "which country is more expensive from the McDonalds' point of view?"

LOL The Big Mac sandwich by itself in Russia costs approximately $6 USD. I think salaries are higher in Moscow for good jobs, but the majority of the population doesn't have these kinds of jobs. My students are pretty well off. That is why they can afford classes. One of my students has the equivalent job of your boss, and she pays for 5 30 minute classes per week every week. She is a single mother too. I don't know the deal she has with her ex-husband for child support, but she lives in one of those condos I mentioned. Many families in Russia have parents, a married child, and their kid (grandparents, parents and child) living in a 1 bedroom condo. The younger couple can't afford a place of their own. Apparently Moscow and Saint Petersburg are very high cost of living cities.
