So...yesterday I almost killed Cah'ya.  Ok, not really, but she was most definitely NOT adorable.  I got home from my errands around 2 pm and let the birds out of their cages.  I was working on my laptop on my bed, so I let Cah'ya roam around her and Bayu's cages, and brought Bayu over to hang out on the bed with me.  B and C's cages are on the ( Read more... )

Not really. If I had the patience of a saint I wouldn't have lost my temper with her. But, you know, I'm getting better at this patience thing. Cah'ya is teaching me as much as or more than I am teaching her.

This can only mean one of three things:

1. Sarcasm - "Wow, Em, could you please tell us more about your freaking birds? You don't talk about them nearly enough. It's almost like you're a soccer mom, except with birds instead of children. This is NEVER boring."

2. Amused Pity - "Oh, you poor thing. You used to have a life and do things that were actually interesting and adventuresome, but now you've turned into one of those crazy hermit ladies with flyaway hair and a million pets. I can't believe I actually know a real, live, crazy bird lady! This is never boring."

3. Secret Love - "I've secretly been in love with you for ten years now, but our love dare not speak its name. I pretend to be straight with that Kamran guy, but really, you're the love of my life. Birds are whatever, but you could be talking about a bump on a log and I would still find every word fascinating. This is never boring."

Well, I hate to say it, but my first thought is always, "Yeah, yeah, more bird stuff." But I swear, by the second sentence, I'm totally hooked. And I have no idea why. I'd never consider having a bird myself, so why do I care about yours? I guess #3 it is.
