The weirdest/creepiest/scariest thing happened to me today!

So I went out for a run, right... and first I see a little bobcat!!! But anyway, that's not the weird thing, that's just a cool thing I wanted to add because I feel silly telling anybody else.
It was so cute, I think it was a baby because it was maybe uh, twice the size of a normal cat? A little bigger than a big cat. It was very bobcatish looking. I was scared it's mom was going to come out after me or something, but no luck.

I was on the final mile of my run... maybe 3/4 of a mile from home? I had been running on the road, but then I switched to this dirt track that's covered in dry leaves. I had my ipod with me, and I was running hard (probably 7 minute mile pace. I was trying to go about 80% for the last mile), so I couldn't really hear anything. Or well, I could... but not anything little, you know what I mean.
Anyway, after getting onto the path, I heard leaves crunching behind me... so I figured somebody was there and I moved over a little, but then my song stopped and I HEARD SOMEBODY BREATHING REALLY HARD LIKE RIGHT FUCKING BEHIND ME.
I spooked soooo bad.
I did like a weird little half turn (because turning around when you're running hard is weird...) and I could kind of see this guy. He was literally about 4 feet behind me. So I kind of slowed up a little and moved way over on to the right side of the path (this is a wide path, mind you) and he definitely didn't make any move to pass me. So I sped up again and just thought about how odd and creepy this was and what I was going to do when I got to my house if this guy was like, following me or something? I don't know... having a stranger running right behind you makes you kind of paranoid. Or well, me anyway. It would be kind of like walking down the street and having somebody clearly following about two steps behind you for a long time. Odd.
Finally, I just decide to stop about 4 houses down from mine at a street sign so I can "stretch" and hope he keeps going. No such luck.
He was kind of dark with an average build... maybe 6 feet tall. I would say he was in his mid-to-late 20s and he was wearing a Grateful Dead shirt.
Here is our exchange:

Strange man (breathing heavily): Woah man, that's quite a pace you've got there!
Me: Uh, yeah...
Strange man (still breathing heavily): Do you stop and stretch often?
Me: Er, no... I'm actually done. I stretch before I go.
Strange man: Know any good stretches for this(points at upper calf)?
Me: Try this one (points toe up while heel is on the ground)

So I start walking away down the street. Strange man jogs to catch up with me.

Strange man: I'm Kent by the way.
Me: Cassidy... uh, how long were you following me?
Kent: Oh, just a mile or so... you don't mind do you? Your pace kept me motivated and I wanted to give this little trail out here a shot. How far do you think it is?
Me: Maybe a mile... or little more...
Kent: Is that one of those neat ipods? I'm going to have to get me one of those!
Me: Yeah, they're nice. Um, I have to go.
Kent: Okay, it was nice to meet you! see you around!

So that's my weird story. Probably the most awkward thing that's ever happened to me.
I ran for at least a mile with a creepy, out-of-shape, much older guy following RIGHT behind me.
Boo.

I think maybe I'll start running with a knife or something. Lame.
