WHAT A BATTY NIGHT

Aug 26, 2004 09:25

What an evenful night I had last night.... THERE WAS A FREAKING BAT IN MY ROOM!!!!!

So I went to bed last night like any other night, I fell asleep reading 1984 with the light on. At about 1 in the morning I gradually became aware of this fluttering noise in my room, and im thinking 'Oh, its just my birds'.... NOT! I opened my eyes and what did I see, AN EFFING BAT! Of course I jumped under my comforter an hid, not because I was scared of the bat (which I wasn't), because I didnt want some bat to run into me. After a few minutes of hiding under my comforter, I bravely looked out of my blankets and saw a bat zooming for my head. So I let out a yelp and back under my comforter I went.

(*NOTE: The bat got into my room through the attic.

My attic is connected to my closet by a door, which

has about an one inch gap under it. Usually I keep

the gap covered, but I got too lazy to recover the gap

after the last time I went into my closet.)

Here's a wonderfully whoreable picture of me freaking out under my covers (Please dont judge, I know I look bad, but hey, its 1 o'clock in the morning...)

Under my comforter, I was weighing my options... first things first, I needed to get some clothes on (I usually sleep in next to nothing, especially during the hot summer nights like last night). After about 5 minutes planning and deciding, and not hearing the bat flap around, I darted my hand out of my safety zone to grab my clothes at the side of my bed. After my clothes were put on, I decided that this time (I've had another bat incident, much like this one) I was going to be really woman and not call Colby to come and get the bat for me. So then I got up, comforter still around me, and started to hunt for the bat, cooing "Hey batty batty batty.... where arrrreeee yoooouuuu?"

I came up with a name for him.... "Little Bitch"... thank you "Baseketball" for that wonderful idea.

Camera at hand, I started to search for Little Bitch. I noticed that some of my dresser drawers were open... a was praying to dear God that he wasnt in there, because I didnt want to find a dead bat in my dresser drawer a year later.

Here are some pictures from my hunt:

He's not in my dresser...

I hope to God that Little Bitch is not taking a dump on my clothes in my closet...

I also hope that Little Bitch is nowhere near my bed

After about a good half hour of searching I finally devised a plan... I opened my window, hoping that Little Bitch will come out of his hiding spot when he hears all the bugs outside. I also set out a piece of half eaten fruit because I think I heard on Animal Planet that bats like fruit.

So then I turned off all my lights, except for my lamp, and jumped in to my bed. Then I started to read 1984 again, waiting until Little Bitch reappeared. And of course, a few minutes later he came zooming out of my closet and made straight for my head. Naturally I let out a yelp and dove for my comforter.

Camera in hand, and still under my comforter, I took some pictures of Little Bitch flying around my room.

There he is over by my vent

And there's another one of Little Bitch in the upper right hand corner

Finally he stopped flying around and landed on my mosquito netting...

So now it was time to make my move before he attacked my with those oh so venomous fangs of his....

I suited up in long pants, a sweater tied around my face, and socks on my hands because I didnt want Little Bitch to bite me and me ending up with rabies or any such thing.

( I still look whoreable, but who cares when you have a bat flying around your room?!)

My first attempt on trying to capture Little Bitch failed miserably and sent him once again flying all over my room. I collasped onto my bed, but my comforter was now MIA (on the floor). So I was left screaming and laying in fetal position until Little Bitch settled down onto a new resting spot.

This was my time to shine, I was going to catch Little Bitch this time, and catch him i did.

So now that I caught Little Bitch after a long one and a half hours, I'm a nice person and decided to to the right thing. I let Little Bitch go. :'(

After I watched Little Bitch fly off into the distance... I truged back up to my room only to discover that Little Bitch left me a present (what a sweetie).

.... Bat guano...... the little bitch....
