Cherchez La Femme (Klaus/Katherine)lit_chick08March 31 2011, 18:48:48 UTC
When he saw her for the first time, all he could see was the woman who had once worn her face. It had been 500 years since Klaus had glimpsed the mahogany curls and doe eyes which had so effortlessly captured him lifetimes before, and he was blindsided by the wave of longing the mere sight of her provokes

You're amazing. Amazing. Katherine in this, human and yet still managing to captivate Klaus, able to defy him, ahh, you write it so well. I adore your Katherine in this, so much, and your Klaus too, falling for her and his dilemmas, it's perfect.

I know. It has to happen. It has to. Need to see so bad, oh my god.
Yeeees, that's exactly how I've thought of her too, like, she was definitely the type to guard her heart away after she was hurt so that she'd never be hurt again, which I think was really enforced too after her family died. After that, she had nothing left to lose, and she made sure that she'd never be attached to anyone again enough to be hurt, if that makes sense.

Oh, it makes perfect sense! And I think that's why she's so obsessed with Stefan (bc I'm one of the people who thinks, in her own way, she really does love him and they need to have hot hate!sex) bc he is the first person she ever really let herself feel anything towards since everything happened.

Yes! I'm one of those people too, definitely. I think Katherine really does love Stefan (in her own way, yes, perfect way to put it, and they DO need the hot hate!sex, YES, I was so hoping for that in the cave, sigh) and exactly, he was the first person she really did allow herself to have feelings like that for since everything else.

This is perfect. Your Katherine is so fierce and strong and badass. I love how she fooled Klaus without even trying, really, and he just never saw her for who she truly was. Wonderful writing <3

This is, I think, exactly how it started. I loved strong!human!Katherine, and how Klaus's insanity was revealed (at least, IMO) by his utter inability to understand the gravity of what he was doing. He confesses that he's going to kill her and then expects her to climb back into bed like they're having a minor lovers' spat? Brilliant!

Thanks! I figure Klaus has to have been a vampire for so long that he doesn't really understand how humans think/react, which is probably what screwed him with Katherine.

And I suspect that, post-baby, Katherine became a BAMF to make sure she was never caught unsurprised ever again.
