She's never quite certain how Isobel finds her, but she does. Katherine comes home to find this woman waiting outside the door to her penthouse in Chicago, dressed unbecomingly in black, a wild look in her dark eyes. Everything about her says "weak" and "possibly homeless," and Katherine isn't sure how she even got into the building until she says, "You're my grandmother...5 centuries removed ( ... )

slalsjdskdsds KATHERINE/ISOBEL FIC! I've wanted this for so, so long, ohmygosh, and then especially after 2x17, so much, and you wrote them, and you wrote Isobel finding Katherine and just, yes, this is exactly like what I'd imagine for them, you wrote them both so well, Katherine shaping Isobel, giving her the pendant, Isobel always being able to find Katherine, and the last line, guh, I just love this so much.

Oh, oh, oh, and also, Katherine's feelings about her baby, "Irina", getting mad at Isobel for telling her Elena's name, and the way she scoffs about Damon, so much love, it was all so painfully, wonderfully spot-on.

I think Katherine and Isobel both share so many similarities and, from Katherine's reaction to when her parents took her baby, I thought Katherine probably feels really bitter about the things that have happened to her.

I'm stunned there wasn't more Isobel/Katherine fic written recently, especially after 2x17

Sweet holy! I needed this! the lack of Katherine/Isobel is horrendous, but THIS! Thank you! That line where John said they were really friends? It just SCREAMED for fic writers everywhere to write. So, again, THANK you! :)

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it! I've never really written Isobel before so I was worried it might not turn out okay.

Btw, where did you get that prompt? I loved the prompt so much; I literally couldn't get it out of my head.

oh, well, you nailed isobel perfectly! i adored how you made katherine so dominant and isobel so strong and yet so vulnerable at the same time; very, very true to her character. <3 love it!!!

Much love for this! I've wanted to see some Isobel/Katherine fic for ages and this was absolutely great, thank you! I love how you showed that Katherine influenced Isobel, and also the parallels in their backgrounds because they really are similar in a lot of ways.
