Written for the prompt "she has winter in her blood" by redbrunja at the  Nostalgia Fest 2011. Originally posted  here. Just a short little thing. SPOILERS for A Clash of Kings if you want to get really, really technical but I don't think it gives much away?

He doesn't think she trusts anyone, but maybe that's the trick to getting by. Keep a sharpened sword at your side at all times and mistrust the entire world. GOD yes. Arya in a nutshell, and phrased so beautifully.

Arry-- Arya-- sleeps worse than any of them. She fights it off stubbornly; everything is a battle that she thinks she can win if she fights hard enough, if she is strong enough. More flawless characterization of Arya Stark, her will, her stubbornness.

He is more amazed by this than he should be. Um wow beautiful much

She is from the North, he reminds himself sometimes, when he again fails to reconcile this Arya with the ladies of the South. They are different in the North.

He has heard stories about the North, but none of them spoke of girls who fought with swords, who killed their foes and dreamed of murder-- He has heard her whisper names in her sleep, seen her fingers clench around ghostly weapons, and he is no fool. Woops

<3 I had so much Arya/Gendry inappropriate feels while watching season 2. I MEAN SERIOUSLY, if they don't want us to ship 12year olds with older boys, don't give us shirtless scenes. Though I've not read the books so I don't even know if we're supposed to ship it. DO NOT TELL ME :D I plan to read them this summer.

It's always good to know someone who writes Arya/Gendry.

Now if you could be convinced to write more, THAT WOULD ALSO BE COMPLETELY FINE WITH ME /subtle :D

Hahahaha, oh gosh, well I won't say anything about the books but if you read them and ever want to discuss, I would love to! ;) I did love how the show wrote them, I think it made it pretty hard to not ship it, exactly.

And aw, I do love these two so it's certainly within the realm of possibility even if I don't have any ideas going right now. I will definitely keep them in mind! :)
