we're all made of the same cup of dust
jenson button/nico rosberg / nc-17 / 3571w (war, violence)
after monaco 2008, nico finds that he isn't the same. (or, in another life, he fought in a war, and had fallen in love with jenson after being sent home from the war front.)

i loved it. it was so sad and romantic and hopeful at the same time. i think you drew their characters really nicely and i love the idea of their lives being intertwined in different times and circumstances. and the sex was hot too!

This is heartbreaking and yet so incredibly beautiful as well. You've done such a great job of mixing in the modern with the past - this fic is going to live on with me for a little while I think.

i was trying for something that had a wwii-esque feel to it for the bits about the war, but i didn't want to put it in wwii itself because it'd be difficult to explain why jenson and nico were on the same side (also it might become problematic and everything) so i tried to make it something that was obviously set in somewhere that isn't quite as advanced as we are now, somewhere with 1940s tech? anyway i'm glad it did come across as being in the past, and i'm really happy that you liked the juxtaposition! thank you ♥
