We're all pretty stupid when it comes down to it. Thanks for letting me know this resonated.

Resonated? Resonated doesn't even begin to cover it. This fic was bloody brilliant. It's more akin to a loud singing/prodding with a sharp pointy stick than a simple resonation. You sell yourself short. XD
Echoes go away. Singing, stick weilding pirates in the back of your mind do not.

Is there any more? I shall love you forever if there is.

Goodness. Besides the two parts that preceded this one, there is no more, and I hadn't planned on writing anything else in this particular arc. However, something thalia_seawood said got me thinking . . . so there might be something else. But I'm afraid I can't make any promises, nice as it would be to secure your eternal affection. Thank you, though, for the very kind words. That pretty much made my night.

Great development! Perfectly in character, IMO. Norrington does have a strong tendency to be honest, yet is nevertheless very strict with himself. And Jack would not go through with a seduction if was faced with such vulnerability.

The interesting thing is: Because Jack hold back, the dynamics have changed. All of a sudden, it's up to Norrington to decide what is important to him. If you write another sequel, I could actually see Norrington redefining his priorities and pursuing his relationship with Jack. After all, he would be impressed by Jack not taking advantage of the situation.

You're definitely right. In these stories, Jack was totally the agressor, the "seeker" so to speak, and if I were to write more, it would have to be, I think, from James' perspective, with him, as you say, redefining his priorities. But that's a pretty big if. I'll have to think about it.

Thanks for the idea, and for sharing your thoughts. Yay!

Why a sequel will always be welcome, your story doesn't need one. Not all stories have to have happy endings - a realistic ending can be much more interesting and memorable than a happy one. :-) (See "Gone with the Wind" for such an ending. :-))

Certainly, and that was my original intention, to have a somewhat more "realistic" ending. I don't want to force a happy ending on this, but I am intrigued by what could make James reevaluate his choices. I'm not sure anything could, and I'm not sure that it would fit into this particular story, but it's something I've been thinking about in light of these stories. So--yeah.

Wah! I don't mind being a tease if it means I get charming little LJ comments from you. Thanks!

Wonderfully in character, even if it does always make me sad and pout to see them NOT quite get there.

Lovely fic.

Well see this is an intresting little series you've got going on here. Generally it's James who is the one seducing Jack, almost never entierly the other way around. And I do love the way things turned out. How James was amost begging. I want it, but I can't...deeply thought out and written. Cheers!

Thank you. That's very much a central dynamic of the way I see Sparrington--mutual attraction that can't realistically be consummated--so it's a relief to know that I'm not entirely alone.
